Matthew 9:6 “But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So He said to the paralyzed man, “Get up, take your mat and go home.”Jesus has the power to forgive sins. What an extremely thrilling statement to receive and to know and to be comforted by. That He forgives us of all our sins. He has the power to forgive, no matter what the sins are. We can depend upon His mercy and grace. We thank God for His completed work at Calvary and that which He has done.He told the paralytic man to take his mat and go home just as a demonstration that the sin is forgiven. There seems to be a correlation between sickness and sin. It was always there. We know that sin brought in sickness from the very Garden of Eden but also in the natural it seems that sin may be cause of illness in our lives, at times. Whether it just be the fall of man or whether it be a personal fault of our own. However, we can know that He has the power to forgive sins and we are able to receive it as a pure gift, a wonderful gift of forgiveness. It would be foolish of us not to enjoy every living moment with complete forgiveness of sins. The Bible says that if we confess our sins, He is just enough to forgive us. We are just to confess and receive and enjoy the wonderful forgiveness of our Lord Jesus.

Genesis 9:15 “I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.”I am so glad that the Lord remembers His covenant. That He is One that keeps His promises, the Yes and Amen. Whatever God says, He will do. He will remember the promises that He has made to you and the covenants that He has made to mankind. We can always rejoice and be comforted, no matter what life looks like, or the things that may be thrown at us, or what the world is going through. God will always keep His covenant. He is God and everyone knows that He is the Lord and whatever He says will come to pass. It will happen exactly as He says. So, wherever you are today and wherever you find yourself, be sure that God will keep His covenant and His promises; that which He has made to you regardless of what it seems like today.

John 11:4 “When He hear this, Jesus said, ‘this sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s gory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.”There is a limit to whatever hardship, difficulties, or challenges that we may endure in our life. Jesus said that the sickness will not end in death. There is an end or a limit to whatever difficulty, sickness, hardship or challenges may be allowed in our lives. He said that it was for God’s glory that the sickness was, or is, or will be allowed; to glorify the Son in it.God will use circumstances, although He doesn’t initiate them, to benefit and to bless and to do. It always God’s perfect will that we have everything of the very best, but because we live in a less perfect world and being the less than perfect people, that the imperfections of this world are the tools, often times, in the hand of God to bring about the nature and purposes of God in our lives.Be comforted that no matter how hard the circumstances are that you think you are facing, there is a limit. God will never test you above that which you are able, or ask more of you than you can cope with.

Matthew 6:25-34Verse 34 “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow…”Jesus taught so many things in the time that He was on earth that was recorded in different words. The words of Jesus are so important to me personally, every word is a vital issue of life. He took time to tell us not to worry about what we wear and what we eat, that only the pagans concern themselves with such things. My observation of life in this world is that so many of us spend so much time and energy being concerned about paying bills and getting things. We get motivated by getting the next thing, the next car, the next level, the next financial breakthrough. However, Jesus who is our Master and the Lover of our hearts that has won and redeemed us, taught us not to worry. It seems to me that we have to learn and actually practice, to make it a habit to condition our minds not to be concerned about these things that He promised to provide in this teaching. He said that “the Father knows that you have need of it” and that He requires you to seek His Kingdom. The Kingdom is the place that He rules and reigns in. If we keep seeking after these things (the things of the Kingdom) and actually try to interest ourselves or acquire the knowledge or understanding of that life, then we can know that the plans and the purposes of God.So, I encourage you greatly today to not be concerned. To practice not being concerned even though the devil tries to get your attention and remind you of these things. Be calm and know that the Lord will make a way and provide for you as He has always done.

John 14:6

“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”We only live once on this earth. And this life that so often takes all out attention is so fragile and precious all at the same time. We are all on a journey and every day our lives are filled with decision-making and adventures of obstacles, challenges and events. It is how we approach these things and how we respond to it that determines the next phase of our lives. Making mistakes, falling and getting up are all part of the journey of this wonderful life. So, instead of looking at these challenges as difficulties or hardships, we should embrace it and see it as an opportunity for God to display His Greatness. We that love the Lord have a wonderful advantage because not all who face difficulties in life have the privilege of casting their worries onto the Lord. We can seek the face of the Lord and know that we will find an answer and solution in Him. Those who cling to this short, fragile life know nothing else. But we cling to a better life, and so we have this excitement that our joys are not in the life, but in Him. We have joy unspeakable and are full of glory in Him. We are content and have learned to be content in all things. We do not lose our joy and happiness when we face difficulties. We rise above it and give Him all the Glory. So rejoice with me as this is a new day and a new life.Amen.Ed Traut
