A Life Dedicated to Strengthening the Church and Equipping Believers
Ed and his wife, Louisa, are part of Church for All Nations (CFAN) in Colorado Springs, Colorado, under the leadership of Pastor Mark Cowart.
Through his ministry, Ed continues to partner with local churches, offering prophetic seminars, leadership training, and practical teaching designed to bring biblical understanding, balance, and maturity to prophetic ministry.
Family and Personal Life
Ed and his wife, Louisa, have shared a lifetime of marriage, family, and ministry. Together, they have raised three children and are blessed with ten grandchildren.
Despite an active international ministry schedule, Ed treasures time with his family and remains deeply committed to the values of faith, family, and service.
Prophet Ed Traut has devoted his life to serving the Body of Christ through prophetic ministry, biblical teaching, and leadership development. With decades of ministry experience, he is widely respected for his accuracy and consistency in personal and corporate prophecy, his engaging teaching style, and his unwavering commitment to strengthening the local church.
Ed began his ministry journey in pastoral leadership, serving as a pastor for several years before being led by the Lord to establish Prophetic Voice Ministries in South Africa. During this time, it became increasingly evident that his calling extended beyond ministering prophetically to individuals. God had also placed a passion in his heart to train, equip, and activate the prophetic gifts in others.

During this time, it became increasingly evident that his calling extended beyond ministering prophetically to individuals. God had also placed a passion in his heart to train, equip, and activate the prophetic gifts in others.
Through mentorship, teaching seminars, and practical ministry opportunities, Ed began helping believers recognize and develop their spiritual gifts with biblical understanding, maturity, and accountability. This vision opened doors for prophetic ministry to reach across denominations, cultures, and nations.
In 1998, in obedience to the Lord's leading, Ed moved his family to San Antonio, Texas, where he founded Prophetic Life Ministry. Since then, his ministry has continued to impact churches, leaders, and individuals throughout the United States and internationally.
Ed is especially known for delivering personal prophetic words that bring encouragement, confirmation, direction, and renewed faith. His prophetic ministry is complemented by a strong foundation in Scripture and a distinctive, lively teaching style that makes biblical truths both accessible and practical.
His books, teaching materials, seminars, and mentorship programs reflect his desire to see believers grow in their relationship with God and become effective in the gifts and callings entrusted to them.
A Heart for the Local Church
Ed's years of pastoral experience have profoundly shaped his approach to ministry. He believes the local church is central to God's plan for spiritual growth, discipleship, accountability, and the advancement of His Kingdom.
Rather than viewing prophetic ministry as something separate from the church, Ed teaches that the prophetic should serve, strengthen, and encourage the Body of Christ while operating within biblical order and spiritual authority.
He holds a firm conviction regarding the importance of godly leadership, submission, accountability, and the proper exercise of spiritual gifts.
The Heart Behind Prophetic Life
Ed’s vision for Prophetic Life is founded on a simple yet powerful belief: Every believer can learn to recognize God’s voice, grow in spiritual maturity, and walk confidently in their God-given calling.
Through prophetic ministry, sound biblical teaching, personal mentorship, and leadership development, Ed is committed to equipping believers, strengthening the local church, and helping people around the world cultivate a deeper, more personal relationship with the Lord.
